Each Zocor Heart pro film coated tablet contains 10mg Simvastatin. Simvastatin belongs to a group of medicines known as statins which significantly reduce the amount of cholesterol in your blood. Too much cholesterol in your blood builds up in the walls of the arteries and causes plaques to form. This can lead to a narrowing of the coronary arteries, just like hard water furs up a water pipe. Heart attacks then can happen when a blood clot forms in a narrowed coronary artery. Zocor Heart Pro is for people who have a moderate risk of coronary heart disease (heart disease due to the build up of plaques in the coronary arteries). Moderate risk means your chances of having a heart attack in the next 10 years are at least 1 in 10.
